Pony Club believes that our Alumni are our greatest achievement, and our investment toward assuring a strong, vibrant equestrian culture in the future.
Pony Club Alumni can be found all over the world, in show rings, veterinary practices, boardrooms and classrooms, gracing Olympic podiums or shoeing horses in your neighborhood barn. They are coaches, teachers, executives, law officers, parents and citizens just like you.
They are the people who are making a difference by giving back to their communities through the same volunteerism that was part of their formative journey. But they all share a common experience and that is the lifelong connection to the Pony Club family.
With clubs operating in 27 countries around the globe, Pony Club Alumni have friends and peers wherever they go. Many lifelong friendships have had their roots in the shared journey that is Pony Club.

Member of PPG team in 1981. That was an awesome experience. We toured Ontario and the Maritimes and with the finale at the CNE. We finished just behind the Brits who had never been beaten in IPPG to that point. I missed my last stepping stone and that blew it for us. I will never forget that. Sorry Canada.

I have fond memories of greulling lessons,fabulous hacks in the countryside and great horseshows. I won some ribbons and represented Atlantic Canada at Rally in Jokers Hill, Ontario. Would love to hear from old members and teammates. I'll never forget the time I got stuck in the mud with fellow riders. I beleive it was springtime and we were on a hack through the Powerlines near Gondola point. Happy riding everyone.

First of all, I wanted to say that I liked Pony Club so much that I never left! While in Pony Club I tried to maximize my experience by participating in as much as I could: eduation (lessons and clinics) first and foremost; PPG (going twice to the Western Canadian finals, the first time winning (Vancouver) and the second time being on the Reserve Championship team (at Calgary); Rally - regional (attending ABC Rally 3 times, the last time winning first place team and first place individual) and national (Calgary, 1983 - first place team and individual); Jumping Championships (3 times on the first place team) and Dressage Championships (I never did too well here!); I also did quiz, tetrathalon and competed regulary in Pony Club playdays, trophy shows and other mounted competitions. I ended up paying my way through university by teaching a variety of Pony Clubs in the BCLM region: Grove, Campbell Valley, Panorama Ridge, Willoughby (defunct), Orion, Hazelmere, Langley; I also did a lot of testing in various regions (BCLM, BC Islands, BCIN, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba); I coached/chaperoned at the National Rally twice (New Brunswick and Arnold, Ontario) and at the PPG Nationals once (Toronto, 1982); and was Education Rep. for BC just before it split into three regions in the late '80s. Now I'm a Pony Club mom with two daughters in Hazelmere Pony Club. I still teach and test.

I enjoyed my experiences with the pony club very much. The extreme generosity of the instructors (many of whom at the time were Olympic team members) and organization leaders inspired me to give as much as possible when my own children were in Pony Club. I became an examiner and later through my association with Tetrathlon became regional Chair. My daughter, Meghan, is following the family tradition and after having competed in national Rally and tetrathlon as well as representing Canada on the international tetrathlon team twice, has qualifications in coaching and has coached the riding , swimming running (and fencing) phases before moving to Australia. She plans to return in the next year and hopes to become involved in the organization once again.

The Pony Club taught me so much about horsemanship and riding! I'm forever grateful. And the friends I made back in Pony Club have been life-long friends, and even best friends for years. Even after I was too old to be a member I still participated by volunteering as a Prince Philip Games Coach and my B team were the Provincial Champions. Thank you so much for everything!

Special memory of pony club - going to the Provincials in 1979 in Virden; - camping out in the back of a bumperpull 2horse trailer for a week; our horses escaping the first night and finding them in a nearby pasture the next morning and riding the xcountry course at McQuakers. Our 'heinz57' ponies kept up to those thoroughbreds of the day!

I started representing my London Pony Club as a 'D' at the Mt. Gabiel Rally in Quebec - early 1950's - and continued rallying, mainly in Ontario, every year from then on through the early 60's. I won the Captain Dick Paton Trophy at the Royal Winter Fair - I believe it was 1959. Our early mentor was Dorinda (Dinnie) Brickenden, who's children Dee and Kelly Hall-Holland were my contemporaries. Other great influences were Nan and Marnie Johnston, Adele Davis Rockwell, Colonel Timmis, Jimmy and Norm Elder, - oh, so many that I can't list them. Pony Club was a huge influence in my life and I will always be grateful for the training it provided and the fun we all had growing up.
