Alumni

Pony Club believes that our Alumni are our greatest achievement, and our investment toward assuring a strong, vibrant equestrian culture in the future.

Pony Club Alumni can be found all over the world, in show rings, veterinary practices, boardrooms and classrooms, gracing Olympic podiums or shoeing horses in your neighborhood barn. They are coaches, teachers, executives, law officers, parents and citizens just like you.

They are the people who are making a difference by giving back to their communities through the same volunteerism that was part of their formative journey. But they all share a common experience and that is the lifelong connection to the Pony Club family.

With clubs operating in 27 countries around the globe, Pony Club Alumni have friends and peers wherever they go. Many lifelong friendships have had their roots in the shared journey that is Pony Club.

Cheryl Kaczmer

Horizon for Alberta South

1989- 2004

Looking back at my PC experience I can see that it taught me a lot. I competed on many regional teams including a national rally team in Winnipeg. I was one of our regions youth reps of a term and a regional examiner and instructor since I attained my C level. I held the treasurer position in our branch for a term and am now the Casino/Bingo treasurer for the region. I've seen PC from nearly every angle other than as a national examiner (which I am working to attain) and as a parent. I have a great appreciation for the effort and time that the volunteers put into making this organization run and have a great awareness of the responsiblilities that volunteer positions carry. I believe that PC had a good impact on my childhood and therefore I continue to commit myself to volunteer positions to ensure that other children have the same opportunties in PC.

I will forever cherish my pony club experiences. There are too many to list but some include rallies, quiz, ppg, hunts, and more. Pony Club was such a positive aspect of my life, building conficence, self-esteem, sportsmanship, lasting friendships and so much more. Thankyou Canadian Pony Club.

I am very grateful for my years in Pony Club. It provided me with an excellent base of knowledge of horsemanship, and lead to a lifelong love of horses. We didn't just learn how to ride, but also how to properly care for our equine partners.

Panorama Ridge

1984-1994

I won a spot for the 1993 National Quiz and went with a great group of girls from the BCLM pony clubs. I placed first in the written portion at Nationals so I'm still really happy about that. Unfortunately it was held within our province that year so I missed out on traveling far but it was still a great experience. As for memories, there are far too many. Riding down to the ring on those crisp fall days early Saturday morning for our lessons, going to camp over in Maple Ridge, going to D and ABC Rally, Quiz, Clinics and the Dressage & Showjumping Championships where I received some of my best Dressage scores/reviews on my little 14.1 appy who gave a phenominal performance after a big very high level warmblood had just finished his test. Pony Club was an awesome experience. I got to meet other kids my age with the same passion and to this day (though we are now in our 30's) am friends with several still. I think I was very fortunate though to have such a great group with such supportive parents.

Esquesing

Lots of fun! Three C rallys at Mohawk Racetrack. Two years we sent three teams. Esquesing Pony Club colours were predominantly yellow with green while Meadowvale was predominantly green with yellow. It was the lemons vs. the limes!
