Lisa Birchard lives
on a beach near a Provincial Park in British Columbia. She has just
completed a year with Canadian National Coach, Peter Gray, as a working
student in Ontario and Florida.
Lisa has
two horses, one at the CCI* level (raised it herself); and a three year
old that she has bought to bring along and event. Besides being busy
with her own riding and training of her horses, she also enjoys
teaching younger riders.
Lisa
also has a few other pets - two birds, fish and a chameleon.
Tatiana Gabrush is
in her 10th year in the Willow Ridge Pony Club in Saskatoon,
Saskatchewan. She attained her HA level last summer before traveling to
South Africa in the Invitational Show Jumping Exchange. Tatiana is
currently completing her second year in the College of Agriculture at
the University of Saskatchewan, in the pre-vet program, and working
towards attaining her BSc in Agriculture. She hopes to apply next year
into the WCVM. Future career goals are to specialize in equine surgery
and move to either the USA or Europe.
Tatiana
has been a member of Saskatchewan's National Quiz Team for the past
five years, and was selected as a member of the international
quiz team this past fall. Tatiana has
been instructing for the past four years.
Outside
of pony club, Tatiana has been successfully competing in the 3'3-3'9
jumpers and had the opportunity to represent the Welsh Cob team last
fall at the Battle of the Breeds at Spruce Meadows,
Calgary. She recently bought a TB which she working on to
hopefully show in the hunter ring this summer. She hopes to attain her
"RA" level next summer in completing her "A" level. She also spends the
summer galloping TBs at the race track for her coach.
Kendal Lehari
lives on a horse farm in Uxbridge, Ontario. She has been in pony club
for approximately 7 years. Kendal is a member of the Toronto North York
pony club and is currently at the B level.
Kendal has competed at the Preliminary Level and is hoping to qualify for the Canadian
Young Riders on her mount, Daily Edition (Ed).
Over
the years, Kendal has participated in many disciplines, including zones
for dressage, show jumping and ABC rally. She has also competed at
national tetrathlon for the past four years. Kendal also traveled to
Ireland for foxhunting.
Other horsey experiences include, helping break horses and leg up race
horses. Kendal is a member of her school's track and cross country teams.
Nicole MacHattie comes
from a beef farm in Middleton,
Nova Scotia. She is currently in her second year at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College
in the PreVet-Bse (Agr) program. She is hoping to apply and get
accepted into veterinary school next year. Nicole is a member of the
PreVet/Animal Science Club and also plays rugby.
Nicole
is hoping to try her Level A Pony Club test in 2005. She has been
riding since she was 6 years old. Nicole has two horses, Laumpee and
Chipper (who are half brothers), which she trains and shows. Laumpee is
a 12 year old Arab/ Standardbred cross which Nicole shows mostly in
eventing and jumper. She is hoping to get into dressage this year.
Chipper is a 5 year old Thoroughbred/ Standardbred cross born on the
family farm and is currently showing in 4H and open shows.
Catherine Stewart joined pony club at the age of 7. She is currently
a B level member with Westbrook Pony Club. Catherine is an active member
teaching stable management and assisting the lower levels in riding instruction.
Catherine
trains at Alborak Stable (west of Calgary), with dressage coach Val Helrud, and jumping coach Sandra
Donnelly.
For
the past several years Catherine has competed at various Alberta
Horse Trials at the Training level. In 2004, she also competed at one
event in British
Columbia. This
year Catherine has taken on a new challenge and is starting her
new horse, Malcome – a 5 year old Warmblood.
Catherine
is very active in school sports, including, Senior Soccer Team, Senior Girls Badminton Double, Track Team – 3000 M, Cross Country Senior Team.

John Jamieson was
a member of the Kawartha Pony Club for 14 years where he attained his
B2 pony club level. During his time with pony club, John participated
in pony club disciplines, including many national and international
events such as rally, tetrathlon and show jumping, including IPE 2001
as a member of the Canadian Team. John was a member of the 2000
Canadian Young Riders Team CCI*.
John
is an accredited farrier and a Level I EC Coach. He is currently
the coach of the Trent University Equestrian Team and also coaches at
Bethany Hills Private School. John is the co-owner and operator of
a 200-acre equestrian and eventing centre, 15 miles northwest of
Peterborough, Endless Journey Farm.
Mary-Debra Pardy
and
her husband, Dave, and two teenage daughters, live in Peterborough. She
has been a pony club parent for approximately 10 years. During
this time she has held various positions within the Central
Ontario Region, including District Commissioner for the Kawartha
Pony Club, ABC Rally Co-Chair, and currently Regional Show Jumping
Chair. She has provided support to many committees including IPE
2001, 2003 and 2005, and Regional and National Tetrathlon.
Mary-Debra's
two teenage daughters are involved in many sports including rugby
and lacrosse. Her oldest daughter, Lesleanne, was a member of 2004
UK Rugby Tour. Mary-Debra's youngest daughter, Erin, has been
riding and involved in pony club for almost 10 years. The family ownes
3 horses, the most recent being little Nellie born on May 7, 2005, two
dogs and a cat.
