Canadian Pony Club invited to be a part of Brain Injury Symposium in partnership with Spruce Meadows and Back On Track Canada

Spruce Meadows along with Back on Track Canada and leaders from the sport and emergency medicine community present the "National Symposium on Brain Injuries in Equine Sport" October 11th 2018 at Spruce Meadows in Calgary

This one-day event will take place at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Alberta on October 11th. The day's events will include five sessions with recognized workshop leaders, panelists and speakers and will feature the topics of Concussion Prevention, Brain Injury and Mental Health with the Ty Pozzobon Foundation, Sport Concussion: Current Standard of High Performance Care and Innovation, Assessing Risk in Sport with Jon Heshka, and "Communicating the Message."

Keynote speaker Dr. Louis Francescutti will present "Injuries are not accidents: They are predictable and preventable" a talk where Dr. Francescutti will share his findings as an injury advocate and emergency medicine physician and challenge participants to think differently about injury.

Following the presentations there will be an opportunity for resource networking with Jon Heshka as well as members of the Foothills Concussion and Rehabilitation Centre (FCRC), Benson Concussion Institute, and Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine.
