A Bit About Dates
People often wonder why we can’t let busy parents know all the various Pony Club dates at once- and boy, do we ever wish we could! (We’re also busy parents.) The short answer is that we, the branch executive, only set the dates for things which just involve our branch- for example, children’s meetings. Of course, we can only set times for these at the convenience of the facilities we use (and we very much appreciate all the support Pony Club gets from all the various organizations out there). But obviously, as many organizations don't charge or give Pony Club a discount for the use of their facilities, we have to work around other commitments they might make. That’s why we’re not able to set our own branch activities as far in advance as we might like.
Many of the activities we offer our kids, for example Quiz or Prince Philip Games are organized regionally, and Regional Pony Club sets the dates. This includes written test, regional (C2 and above) testing, Quiz, Prince Philip Games, etc. Regional Pony Club is working around dates when facilities such as Maple Ridge are available for us to use. In turn, Maple Ridge is working around dates set by Thunderbird, Twin Oaks and other large regional show facilities, and of course Thunderbird and Twin Oaks are working around dates set nationally by Spruce Meadows. . . Pony Club is definitely a LONG way down the food chain when it comes to available dates. We do try and do our part by letting you know dates as quickly as possible.
