Polocross is best described as Lacrosse on horses. Thankfully, for the horses at the very least, the balls are soft and the sticks are light and flexible. It is a new activity for the Canadian Pony Club but has long been played in Australia, New Zealand, Zimbabwe and the United States.
Last year, Vancouver Pony Club made an application to National Pony Club to try and introduce Polocrosse to the Canadian Pony Club. Polocrosse is a wonderfully flexible game: It can be played on any sort of horse or pony, and at the walk, by beginners, or very competitively by experienced riders. 5 members of our Pony Club attended the 2003 World Championships in Australia, and are looking forward to launching this exciting sport!
