OPEN TO ALL CURRENT MEMBERS OF ONTARIO’S THREE PONY CLUB REGIONS (WESTERN ONTARIO, CENTRAL ONTARIO AND ST. LAWRENCE-OTTAWA VALLEY)

All submissions are due by November 8, 2020

  • 6 - 9 years
  • 10 - 14 years
  • 15 - 19 years
  • 20+ and Horse masters

The presentation of the Design plan will be in any form participants wish, digital or physical, highly graphic or print dominant. Any combination of medium including videos are Participants. The plan should be no longer than about 10 to 15 pages if mostly print with some diagrams, videos should not be longer than about 5 minutes. The goal would be to not only earn a badge or two, but to help solidify the knowledge gained through education and testing preparation. To demonstrate the vast practical knowledge learned and practised in Pony Club. It should be relevant to your age and level of testing as outlined below.

The following are details and restrictions about each age category:

1. 6-9 years
  • The expectations for this division will be based on the stable and horse care knowledge learned at E and D levels.
  • Look to your manuals, workbooks and badge program for information. Be creative and have fun.
2. 10-14 years
  • The expectations for this division will be based on the stable and horse care knowledge learned at D1 to C levels.
  • Look to your manuals, workbooks and badge program for information.
  • Be creative and have fun.
3. 15-19 years
  • The expectations for this division will be based on the stable and horse care knowledge learned at C1 to B levels.
  • Look to your manuals, workbooks and badge program for information.
  • At this level we encourage you to look out in the industry for inspiration and information on products, styles and budgeting.
  • Be creative and have fun.
4. 20+ years & Horse Masters
  • The expectations for this division will be based on the stable and horse care knowledge learned at B level and above.
  • If you are a Horse Master your testing level will be taken into consideration when looking at technical content.
  • Look to your manuals, workbooks and badge program for information.
  • At this level we encourage you to look out in the industry for inspiration and information on products, styles and budgeting.
  • Be creative and have fun.

We encourage you to do some simple research and dream big. We do not want to put any limitations on our keen and creative members. As the age and relative testing level increases, so does the expectation for additional details.

The plan should include the following:

1. Type/Purpose of Equine Business
2. Number of Equines and important information about those equines
3. The staff and support professions needed for your type of business
4. The layout of property and buildings, including important areas outlined
5. Specifics for storage and other key information for Equine care and business needs
6. Biosecurity considerations, fire safety
7. Participants are welcome to include facility name and branding and any form of a business plan should they wish
8. Creative thinking
