2007 Regional Tetrathlon ReportRegional Tetrathlon was held in Guelph and London this weekend and our competitors all did fabulous! They are a great source of inspiration to each other and by the looks on their faces, they all had a great time. Congratulations to Mandy, Kathryn, Darsi, Hilary and first time competitor Jacklyn! A special thanks to Toni and Thalia for coming out to support the club. Toni worked all day Saturday at our Food Booth and Thalia managed all the horses and competitors on Sunday. And even though Hilary did not do the riding portion on Sunday she came out to support the rest of the riders. Thanks also to Alexander, who ran the food booth, for the most part on Sunday, and to Sandy and Neil for helping in all ways to get us there and get us set up and make sure that things ran smoothly. And thank-you to all the parents who provided the food and goodies to sell during the meet! Results: With the exception of Jacklyn all our rider rode a lower level to get the experience for themselves and/or their horses at a tetrathlon. It looks like it was a positive experience for everyone and I am sure they are all looking forward to starting practice again for next year! Perhaps we will all take the summer off, though! It looks like the food booth was also a sucess but we have not calculated the exact profit yet. This was our first year taking on such a task and we have now got some experience behind us. We had lots of positive compliments with what we provided for the region. And I have to say now that SUBs were a fabulous idea! :-) A photo of our competitors with their ribbons! 2007 Mount Nemo Mini Meet Report!Congratulations to our pony club members who competed at the Mount Nemo Mini Meet in Burlington in May. Results: It should be mentioned that Mandy, Darsi and Kathryn competed as a team on Friday in a triathlon in Ancaster the day before, with Mandy running 3.2 KM, Kathryn swimming 300 meters and Darsi riding a bike 7.2 KM!! They were a bit sore and tired by the Mount Nemo Mini Meet on Saturday, but competed admirably! YAY Westover!! 2007 Grand River Mini Meet Report!Congratulations to our current Tetrathlon Team: Darsi Brown, Hilary Braniff, Mandy Usselman & Kathryn Robertson. After being at Quiz all day Saturday, these young ladies got up early on Sunday to get to Fergus to swim, run & shoot for the Westover Pony Club at Grand River Pony Club's first ever "mini meet"!! They all did very well, especially Hilary, who never even had a chance to hold or shoot an air pistol prior to the actual competition!! I think the girls all had fun - there was a ton of laughing going on all day!! They were a great team supporting each other in all events. Results: Way to go girls!! 2007 Guelph Pentathlon Report!Congratulations to all our members who managed to make through another very long pentathlon. Somehow we forget how long it is from year to year! The weather was geogeous though, so we can't complain. Two years ago we had a snowstorm on the day of the riding. Our tetrathlon team did very well! Check out the photos! Results: Day One: Swimming, Shooting & Running Day Two: Fencing & Riding Overall Results for two days: Honorable Mention to Erin W who came out for Day Two to fence and ride along with her brother, Patrick who placed third in Men's Senior Division, riding english and doing jumps for the first time in his life! He got a clear round! |
