About A/B/C Rally

A/B/C Rally is a combined training event for Pony Clubbers who are a C level or higher. Riders compete over the course of three days in Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross country and Stable Management. For the duration of the Rally the competitors (riders, grooms and captains) remain at the site of the rally and are expected to look after all of their mount's requirements including feeding, cleaning, grooming and first aid.

Helpers who are a D2 level or higher and are 12 years old act as grooms for the riders, helping with all aspects of the care of the horses. A jumping round with clear round ribbons awarded is provided for helpers over a D2 level course (similar to D Rally) following the completion of the regular Stadium Jumping phase.

In the Entry, Pre-Training and Training divisions, teams are made up of either 3 or 4 riders and 2 team managers or helpers. The best 3 out of 4 rider scores are counted to determine ribbon placings. In the Preliminary Division, teams are made up of 2 riders and one team manager or helper with all scores counting.

Competition, however, is only a part of a Rally. Most Rallies also include some planned and some unplanned entertainment and plenty of opportunity for members from different Branches or Regions to get together and renew old friendships or make new ones. (From the CPC website)
