A/B/C Rally
Regional A/B/C Rally - is held over three days Friday August 8th - Sunday August 10th at Checkmate Equestrian Centre near Feversham.
2007 A/B/C Rally Report
Well, we survived a very busy weekend at ABC Rally!
The weather was not as nice as last year with a very rainy day on Saturday starting just as Cody was exiting the dressage arena. Luckily both Amanda and Cody rode their tests before the rain started putting Amanda in 13th and Cody in 7th position.
The rain did make for a very challenging show jumping round (we have video and pictures to prove it!).Cody did well but had a rail down and some time penalities putting him in 9th place. Amanda was having a very nice round until the last fence when Bailey thought he might stop, unfortunately with the slippery ground, stopping was not an option, Bailey slid into the fence! Both Amanda and Bailey were fine but unfortunately were elimintated. I did get some great video that we will show at the awards banquet!
Luckily Sunday was much better for cross country, by the time Simone and I had to head out to jump judge, the sun was out. Good thing cause we were a little worried about packing up soaking wet tents. Both Cody and Amanda went clear placing 2nd and 3rd with no penalties. They were the only WOR members who placed in the top 6 in cross country.
Thanks to Darsi, Hilary, Kathryn and Thalia for being outstanding grooms. I'm not sure they will ever want to camp again! Congratulations to Amanda and Cody for doing a great job with their horses. They worked very hard over the summer both on their riding skills and getting their horses in peak physical condition for this rally.
Some more results were as follows:
Grooms Placings - Hilary 8th, Kathryn 13th, Thalia and Darsi tied for 24th,
Team Placings - Cody, Amanda, Thalia and Darsi's team - 8th place overall
Kathryn and Hilary's team - 5th place overall and 3rd place overall in Stable Management,
Cody 5th place overall Individual in the Entry division.
Overall we had a great weekend, our members had a great time, kept their sense of humor throughout the weekend (even in the pouring rain, with wet tents and sleeping bags, then eventually abandoning the tents for trucks) and exhibited outstanding sportsmanship.
