Western Ontario Region Pony Club

            Results are based on the 7 Regional competitions; Quiz, Tetrathlon, Prince Philip Games, B/C Rally, D Rally, Dressage and Show Jumping.

            Points are awarded to branches based on both the competitive results and upon participation.

            Each event is normally worth 90 competitive points. The exceptions are when there are 7 and 8 championship divisions where 91 and 92 points, respectively are awarded (see below).

            Points are awarded only in championship divisions only. The 90 points are divided equally between all championship divisions.

            The number of points in each division depends on the number of championship divisions, and is given in the table below.

            The emphasis is on team competition. Therefore, in team events, points are based on the team standings and not on individual placings.

            Points are awarded to the top 5 branches in each division. Branches having more than one team in the top 5 placings will only receive points for the highest placed position. Points for the lower placing will be awarded to the next placing by a different branch. For example, if a branch takes the top 2 placings, then the second place points will be awarded to the third place branch, the third place points will be awarded to the 4^th placed branch etc.

            If there are not 5 different branches competing, then points are not awarded. For example, if there are only 4 branches participating in a championship division, then points will only be awarded for the 1^st four placings and the 5^th place points will not be awarded.

            In individual events, e.g. Dressage and Show Jumping individuals may compete in more than one championship division. If these people place, points will only be awarded for their highest finishing. In the lower finishing division, the points will be awarded to the next highest placing individual from a branch which has not already received points in that division.

            In addition to the competitive points, one (1) point is awarded to every branch that has at least one competitor at the event, even if they do not compete in a championship division.
