2008 DRESSAGE FINALS RESULTS

Due to weather, the Dressage finals were split into 2 days with the Entry and Starter divisions running on Saturday, July 19th and the Pre-Training and Training divisions on Saturday Sept 20th

Congratulations to all of the competitors at this year’s Regional Dressage Finals held on Saturday July 19th at Ancaster Fair Grounds. We were able to hold the weather off and complete the Starter and Entry divisions in the morning but due to lightning and poor footing after torrential down pours, we had to call the show at the start of the Pre-Training and Training divisions. We will be coordinating another show to complete those levels before the National Dressage competition so stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.

I would like to thank all of my wonderful volunteers who had the show running so smoothly in the morning that we were ahead of schedule. With the rain came chaos but everyone still held it together. Thanks to my announcers Del Zelmer and Harriet Lyons who kept everyone informed and moving along nicely. Special thanks to Harriet for making light of the conditions during the storm and encouraging the kids during their “character building” tests. The scribes, runners, gate attendants had everything moving right along. Jackie Cornell and Chris Agnew had the scores entered and posted in no time … what a team! We couldn’t have done it without all of you so again … THANKS!

Thanks to Mount Nemo for running a fantastic food booth. The food was excellent and had a great variety.

We still have not handed out all of the tests or the ribbons for these classes and we never got to post the overall results. I will bring the tests and ribbons when together next or at the next regional meeting.

It was wonderful to see so many kids taking interest in dressage and doing such a fantastic job of it. Congratulations again!

What a fantastic completion to Regional Dressage on September 20th. Excellent weather and competition made for a great day for the Regional Dressage finals for Western Ontario. The event was held at Langford Church Stables in Brantford, Ontario and our judge for the day was Jacklyn Brooks from St. George, ON. There were 14 competitors in total for both divisions which included 2 technical tests and 4 freestyle classes in total.

The competition was very tight through the day with several ties. In fact, Training D had 3 ties all with the exact same collectives resulting in 3 third place finishes. There were some fantastic scores achieved throughout the day.

There were some mishaps with the ribbons and I apologize for not having them all available to the kids on the day. Next year, I will be better at that! If you did not receive your ribbon on Saturday, please e-mail me and I'll bring them to the next Regional meeting.

Congratulations to all of the competitors and to our Pre-Training overall winner, Stephanie Sloss and our Training overall winner, Kristen Wight.
