The London Pony Club was first established in 1948. It is one of the oldest Pony Club Branches in Canada. We are one of 14 Branches of the Western Ontario Region, which is one of 13 Regions across Canada, in the Canadian Pony Club. There are Pony Clubs all across the globe.

We are a small club of 12 members ranging in the ages of 9 to 18 and one affiliate (over 21) member. London Pony Club membership covers a very large area. We have members that live in London and all around the area, including Sylvan, Ilderton, Parkhill, Ingersoll, and Forest. Our members do not all ride out of one specific barn and not all of our members own their own pony or horse. We do try to accommodate those members without their own horse or pony as much as we can. Some of the members lease a pony or horse so that they are able to ride. We hold monthly education meetings at our members' homes and barns/stables, through out the fall, winter and spring months.

We offer Spring and Fall testing for our members and we help prepare them for these written and ridden tests through education meetings, mentoring and clinics.

London Pony Club has been very sucessful in Regional Competitions through the years. We promote the participation of our members at the Regional competitions during the summer and help prepare both themselves and their mounts for these competitions with clinics and education meetings. We have members attend Regional Quiz in late April or early May, Regional Tetrathlon in June, Prince Philip Games, Dressage and Showjumping in July, as well as A/B/C Rally in July and D Rally in August. The Badge Program has been fully implemented into our Education program.

The cost of a membership to join the London club is $125.00 each year. It is $100 each for any additional children in a family. We renew our memberships with CPC in September/October of each year.

All Canadian Pony Club members must be a member of their Provincial Sport Organization, for Insurance purposes. For our province, that is the Ontario Equine Federation (OEF) and that is a $40.00 fee for a junior member for one year. The OEF offers a special rate of $45 (for16 months) for new CPC members, so that when they apply for CPC and OEF, they are covered through the fall season and then into the next year.
