This year Maxville was organized by Jackie Poirier, DC for Lake of Two Mountains (LTMH) Pony Club. This was the first time LTMH had to organize an event of this sort and it was quite the job. However Jackie and her team of volunteers managed to pull it off and the kids all seemed to have a great time.

Rhoda Kerr was in charge of Stable Management and helped the kids learn where their weaknesses were in this area. The coaches and testers were excellent and everyone appreciated the time they spent with each child.

Thanks to our volunteer, Cathy, our caterer did a fine job of providing nutritious meals for everyone. Cathy also sat with the chaperones on the Saturday when they arrived to organize their roles for the weekend ahead.

On registration day, Theresa pitched in and helped organize the helpers, who became known as the "red shirt team", as they had all been given a red T-shirt to wear. This way they were easy to spot and the kids knew to whom to go if they needed assistance.

For the clinic on the Monday, Richard Thompson volunteered his time to do a morning seminar on "natural horsemanship". He demonstrated with his own ponies various techniques and answered many questions that the kids had for him. He also helped a few girls when they brought their own horse to him and they were shown ways to fix a particular problem they were having with them.

On the Monday, the parents were invited to lunch to watch the award ceremony. Despite everyone being tired after the three-day weekend, it was gratifying to see so many happy, smiling children, which after all, was one of purposes of doing the rally.
