2007

• Dec. 1st: SLOV AGM, 9:30 am-2:30 pm. Bring 20 copies of year-end Branch and Discipline reports. Lunch $5. Legion Hall, Main St., Stittsville.

• Nov. 25th: Tetrathlon near Arnprior. Run, swim, ride and shoot. Horses provided. Beginners welcome. Entry forms due Nov. 20th. Contact Anne-Marie Fowler (613-223-6278). or Janice Stevens (613-446-7439).

• Nov. 17th: SLOV awards/celebration banquet, St. John's High School, 2066 Scotch Line Road, Perth at 6 pm. Cost will be around $5 - $6 for youth and $10 - $12 for adults.

• Nov. 6th: Coach to the Royal Winter Fair. $50 per person. Admission and reserved seating for the evening show (including an indoor Event) provided by SLOV. • Nov. 4-5: Freestyle clinic at Heroncrest. Timing your horse, choreography, and music choices and editing. Cost: $150, stabling included. Contact Diana Bayer (613-283-8084).

• Oct. 27th: Used tack sale, 9 am to 1 pm at Rooney Feeds, Kemptville. Consignment form here. Organized by Oxford Downs P.C. To drop off items before the sale, please call either Marlene Armstrong 613-692-1263 or Colleen Howard 613-989-1514.

• Nov. 15th: Regional meeting, 7 pm, Recreation Centre, Beckwith St., Smiths Falls.

• Sept. 22nd: Note new date! Power up for National Quiz. Smith Falls, 9 am to 5 pm. For National Quiz team members and C level Pony Club members. The activities will include clinics, developing games strategy and of course fun with visuals, aimed at preparing the teams for National Quiz in Edmonton. Contact Bev Hewitt 613-284-1083.

• Aug. 18-19th: B/B2 tests in SLOV. Contact Cat Hunter.

• Aug. 19th: C2 tests in SLOV. Contact Cat Hunter.

• Aug. 13-15th: D2, C and up Working Rally at Ferme Beaulieu, Ste. Justine-de-Newton, P.Q. Set-up on Sunday, clinics on Monday and Tuesday, testing on Wednesday. $10 discount if you attended last year. Information and application forms. Deadline for entries: July 27th. • July 14-15th: Regional Tetrathlon. Riding at Sunset Farms, 6559 Hazeldean Road, Stittsville; Run, Swim, and Shoot at the RA Centre, Ottawa. Riding waiver. Details in entry package. Deadline for entries: June 30th. Contact Janice Stevens (613-446-7439).

• July 10th: free clinic for Pony Club by Ron Pyne on Pat Parelli technique, 6:30 to 8ish. This clinic has been cancelled.

• July 8th: (tentative) C2/B test-preparation clinic. Contact Cat Hunter.

• June 22nd and 23rd.: Written C2/B/B2 tests. Contact Cat Hunter.

• June 17th: Tetrathlon Shooting clinic with John Hawes, RA centre, Ottawa. Information and registration form. Contact Janice Stevens (613-446-7439).

• June 16th: Cross-country clinic by Paul Popiel at the National Equestrian Park in Nepean (Ottawa). Pictures.

• May 15th: Deadline to apply for C2/B/B2 testing. Applications must be accompanied by a first-aid certificate. Contact Cat Hunter.

• May 12th: Tester's Clinic at Terelisa Farm in North Augusta, 9 am to mid-afternoon. Cost is free to current members of the tester's list, $10 to anyone else. Contact Cat Hunter.

• Apr. 22nd: Regional Quiz, Smiths Falls District Collegiate Institute. Entry forms and information here.

• Mar. 19th: Regional meeting, 7 p.m., Beaverbrook Library, Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive, Kanata.

• Mar. 18th: Tetrathlon mini-meet in Perth. Run, swim, ride (indoors), and shoot, and a shooting clinic with John Hawes, olympic pentathlete from Ottawa. There will be a tadpole division. • Feb. 19th: Regional meeting, 7 pm, Recreation Centre, Beckwith St., across from the downtown Tim Horton's, Smiths Falls.

• Feb. 11th: Stupid Cupid PPGs at Heroncrest. Beginner and open divisions. Cost $25 ($10 if you bring your own pony). Dress festively, both rider and pony. Contact Janet Heaslip (613-275-4192).

• Feb. 10th: Equine Canada clinics, 8:30 am to 6 pm. Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ottawa.

• Jan. 28th: Oxford Downs Pony Club is offering a clinic with horse-feed expert Corlena Polegato. From 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Kemptville College, Barr Arena, next to the horse stables. Kemptville College is in Kemptville, which is west of #416, south of Hwy 44, near the Kemptville Hospital. Cost is $10 for Regional Members and $15 for non pony club members. Corlena Polegato is with Kemptville Feed and Seed. She will speak about horse nutrition, different kinds of feed, and purpose of feed. Contact: Catherine Everett-Fry at 613-258-7945.

• Jan. 15th: Regional meeting at the Mlacak Centre, 2500 Campeau Drive, Kanata, at 7 p.m.

• Jan. 14th: Oxford Downs Pony Club is offering a clinic with farrier Mark Struthers. 10 a.m. until 12 noon at U and Me Stables (Dini Gowenlock), 1293 Dozois Street, Manotick, 613-692-6298. Learn about the principles of shoeing, shoe types, common ways a horse becomes lame. Mark will demonstrate on a horse and he has a sample leg. $5 fee but snacks will be provided at the end of the presentation. It is in a heated barn but dress appropriately.
  Directions: Take Mitch Owens Rd. east of Manotick to first set of lights, which is Dozois Street. Turn right on Dozois (St. Mark's High School is on the corner) Follow Dozois to 1293, on the left side of road. Contact: Marlene Armstrong at 613-277-4402

• Jan. 5-6th: Tetrathlon meet in Ottawa. Fencing and Riding (with school horses) on Friday, and Run, Swim, and Shoot on Saturday. Cost about $80 for everything (but you can do fewer parts for less). Registration package and waiver.
