Club Report February 2008
Our club has had a busy few months since the last report. He have had 3 new members join our club bringing our club to a total of 20 members. We are excited to have them on board and are looking forward to getting to know them better in the upcoming months.
We hosted our Christmas Party in December and fun was had by all. We broke the girls into groups and they competed in PPG games. We had a delicious potluck lunch and wound up with a Secret Santa exchange and socializing.
The opportunities for our girls seem to be endless.we had Elaine Partington out to do a 2 day jumping clinic with the girls in December. We opened this clinic up to other clubs and were excited to see so new faces around the barn. We had members from Northwinds, Cherry Hill and Delisle take part as well as a few outside club members.
In January we gave our regular instructors the Saturday off and we booked in Kristen Poier to instruct dressage lessons with the groups. All of the feedback was just so incredibly positive we would definitely consider bringing her out again. We followed up with a schooling dressage show on the Sunday which was optional and although turnout was around half of our members all of the girls had fun and enjoyed the experience.
February seems to stocked full of events as well. We are hosting a Steak Night Fundraiser and are looking forward to socializing with family and friends outside of the barn. We have 8 members looking forward to riding with Shannon Sleuser mid February and a huge thank you to Krystl Ahrens for organizing this. We have a jumping clinic scheduled with Allan Mathieson during the midterm break and we are expecting that attendance will be high for this clinic.
We started up with our stable management at the beginning of December breaking the kids into alternating groups taking place on Sunday. The sessions are being well attended even through this cold spell that we have been having. We are soon going to find ourselves preparing for testing. We look forward to see you all at quiz in March.
