Delisle Pony Club Report
February 2, 2008
Delisle Pony Club has 7 new members this year for a total of14, all currently under 13 years old. As incoming D.C., and a U.S. Pony Club graduate myself, I am trying to stay organized and informed with all the energy of a parent who's short of sleep but passionate about being involved with Pony Club again. Thank you to our incoming treasurer Darcy Shukin, new Secretary Lorraine Beaudette, and to our continuing testing chair and assistant D.C., Kerrie Sparrow. Robbie Pattison will stay on as instructor, historical consultant and club reporter. Carol Weiler continues to provide invaluable general support and knowledge.
We started our year on January 5th with sleigh rides and a look at driving harness with Orest Michalowski. Afterwards we enjoyed a potluck supper where a number of badges earned last year were distributed. Erin Keen spoke inspiringly about her experiences at National Tetrathlon and National Dressage Championships.
Currently we are enjoying weekly stable management lessons and enthusiastically preparing for Regional Quiz. Several members attended the Equine Health Seminar at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine on February 2. So far, we have held a couple fundraisers and are lining up a great set of workshops and clinics as we look forward enthusiastically to a summer season of riding and camaraderie.
Respectfully Submitted,
Susan Tedesco,
