    Matt is a 20 year old "RA" member of the Strathcona branch which he joined in 1991 at the age of 10.

    Over the past few years, he has shown his all round abilities by competing at the National level in Masters Games and at the regional level in Tetrathlon, Quiz, Prince Philip and Masters Games, Rallies, Show Jumping, and Dressage. He has also been an active instructor for Strathcona and other branches in his area.

    Matt has been a very successful Eventing rider. He placed 4th in Alberta in the training division in 1997 and 2nd in Alberta in the preliminary division in 1998 when he also qualified for the North American Young Rider Championships. In both 1999 and 2000, Matt was also chosen for the Canadian Equestrian Team's "Talent Squad" of young riders with the potential to make the Canadian Eventing team.






    John Jamieson


     

    John has been a member of the Kawartha Pony Club near Peterborough, Ontario continuously since 1992. He is now 19 years old, is a certified CEF Level I instructor, has reached the B2 level, and intends to go for his A this year.

    In 2000, John and his 7 year old "Irish Cream" pictured above competed in 8 Preliminary level events including two CCI* events. They placed in the top 10 in 7 of them including the Bromont CCI*

    One of John's goals has been to earn a place on a Young Riders Event team and he reached that target in 2000 competing as part of the Ontario team in Morven Park, Virginia.

    John is also active outside Pony Club and has been a member of several national and international Pentathlon teams including the 1997 Gold Medal team at the Mexico City Junior Pan Am Games.






    Faye
    Merrett


     

    Faye lives in Nanaimo, British Columbia and is 20 years old. She has been a Pony Club member of the Quennell Lake branch since 1989, and is currently at the B level.

    Faye has been active in many disciplines of Pony Club, competing in rallies, quizzes, dressage and jumper championships, and PPG for years. She is also involved with coaching the junior PPG teams, teaching stable management, judging at rallies, and testing throughout the region. Eventing has been her main focus for the past six years, competing in the Canadian Pony Club National Championship Rally in 1999 and in the Western Canadian Championship Rally in 1998. In addition, she was a representative of Zone 6 at the 1998 BC Summer Games and has many years experience competing in Horse Trials including Preliminary level.

    Faye also rides Dressage up to the Medium I level, in Pony Club Regional Show Jumping Championships and in CEF Recognized PacRim Hunter/Jumper Shows up to 3’6".

    Paula Rainford


     

    Paula is an 18 year old who has been a Pony Club member since she started with the Mill Ridge branch 11 years ago. She is now a member of the Esquesing branch and has achieved her B2 with plans to try her A test this year.

    She is currently training at the Preliminary level in eventing and the 4'0" level in Show Jumping as well as doing Medium level dressage work.

    During her time in Pony Club, Paula has represented the Western Ontario Region in several National competitions and was part of the 1998 Canadian gold medal team in the International Mounted Games competition.






    Katie
    Shipley



     

    Katie has been riding for 12 years and a member of Pickering Pony Club in Central Ontario Region for 10. She is currently a B2 and achieved her CEF Level I in October 2000.

    Katie attends college and also manages a barn in Ajax with boarders and lesson students.

    Regionally and nationally, she has competed in showjumping, tetrathlon and rally.

    "Samson" is her Young Rider, preliminary level event horse, and they completed their first CCI* 3-day event last September. She was preliminary champion, first place team with John Jamieson and individual rider, at the Eastern Canadian Rally championship held at Checkmate by Western Ontario in 2000 on "Impact II", a prior eventor brought back after a 5 year broodmare career. In addition, she is currently training a rather spirited, mostly thoroughbred gelding named "Lochnigar" to start at pretraining this season.







    Heather
    Crampton


     

    Heather has been involved with Pony Club since 1978 when her two daughters enrolled. Over the years, she ahs held various positions such as DC of the Victoria-Saanich Branch and Regional Rally Chair.

    Heather is now the Regional Vice Chair and National Director for the British Columbia Islands Region and also the National Rally Chair. She is also a CEF senior jumper judge, an AHSA 'R' Jumper Judge, a CEF Level 1 Technical Delegate, and owns two equestrian businesses, one in BC and one in the eastern US.



    Jane
    Stone


     

    Jane is 42 years old and a graduate of the Cowichan Pony Club on Vancouver Island where she attained attained her B level.

    Eventing became her focus after she finished school and she travelled back and forth to Eastern Canada and the USA in the early 80's for a couple of years and was long-listed to the Canadian Equestrian Team with her horse "Showdown".

    She is also a CEF Level 2 event coach and has riders competing up to CCI* level. Jane has also continued as an active competitor, currently competing her 6 yr old 'Hercules' at Training level. She also buys sells and trains horses.
