Famous Pony Club Graduates

Adele (Davies) Rockwell ~ Honorary Life Member and Director of Pony Club.

Danny Foster ~ Was a member of the 1991 Pan American Team and won the individual Gold Medal. Operates Heritage Farms in Brampton, Ontario.

David Wilding-Davies ~ In 1985, he won the gold medal at the American Continental Young Riders Championships. In 1988 was named to the Canadian Three Day Team for the Seoul Olympics.

Mark Todd ~ Won two Olympic Gold Medals.

Gina Smith ~ Represented Canada at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 winning the Team Bronze Medal. In 1991, Gina, along with mount Dutch Treat were members of the Gold Medal Team at the Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba.

Captain Mark Phillips ~ Phillips has gone on to win a Team Gold Medal at the Olympics, World and European Championships, as well as winning Badminton 4 times and Burley once. He was also an accomplished showjumper and represented Britain on two winning Nations Cups Teams.

Nancy MacLachlan ~ Went on to represent Canada at the 1995 Pan American Games in Argentina, as well as the World Equestrian Games in 1998.

Lorraine Laframboise ~ Lorraine represented Canada as an individual at the 1980 Fontainebleau France CCIO, which was the alternate for the Olympics. From 1991 to 1995 Lorraine was the Canadian Three Day Team Coach.

Tom Gayford ~ Gayford's career includes four gold medals, most notably the Olympic gold in 1968. He is a member of the Canadian Amateur Athletic Hall of Fame, and was the Canadian Horseman of the year title in 1962. He was also Director of Pony Club in the 1950's.

Jim Elder ~ Jim first competed in the 1956 Olympics in Stockholm Sweden as a member of the bronze winning three day event team. He went on to win the team gold medal in showjumping at the Mexico Olympics, and was captain of the Canadian Show Jumping Team at both the 1972 Munich Olympics and the 1976 Olympics in Montreal.

Lendon Gray ~ Very recognized dressage rider in the U.S. She was selected in 1988 for the U.S Olympic Team and competed in the 1991 World Cup Final.

Robert Dover ~ He was first long listed by the USET in 1977, and has been a member of the USET ever since. He was one of the top qualifiers for the United States Dressage team to compete in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney.

Sandy Phillips ~ Had an outstanding finish at Badminton in 1981. She switched to dressage and has accomplished a great deal in that discipline as well. She was a member of the United States Dressage Team that competed at the World dressage Championships in 1986.

David Broome- A well known accomplished Showjumper. Represented Britain in both the 1960 and 1968 Olympic Games, winning bronze medals at both competitions. David was also World Champion in 1970 and was three time European Champion. He holds a record for winning the King George V Gold Cup 5 times.

David O'Connor ~ David has gone on to many international events including the Olympics. David was a member of the Gold Medal U.S Team at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He also went on the win the Rolex Kentucky with his mount Custom Made.

Karen O'Connor ~ An internationally successful competitor, she was also a member of the gold medal winning team at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg Manitoba.

Leslie Reid ~ Leslie achieved her A in 1975. Leslie, and horse, Seafox, were named to the 1996 Olympic Dressage Team.

Ian Millar ~ Dominated the Grand Prix Circuit with mount Big Ben. Numerous World Cup wins. Earned the title Captain Canada. Won the individual gold medal in the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg Manitoba with his mount Ivar.

Liz Ashton ~ Was a member of the Silver Medal winning team at the Pan American Games in 1974 and also a member and captain of the gold medal team at the world Three Day Event Championships. Aside from her Equestrian pursuits, Liz received a degree from the University of Toronto in Physical Education and went on to be the Dean of more that one community college.

Cindy Ishoy ~ She is one of the most successful international dressage riders to have represented Canada. She was a member of the Bronze Medal team in the 1988 Seoul Olympics, The Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and also competed in the 1986 World Championships.

Moffat Dunlap
~ A member of the Canadian Show jumping Team for 20 years, was a team bronze medal winner at the 1967 Pan American Games and a member of the team that won the Nations Cup at the 1970 World Championships. Moffat was also the Director of the Canadian Pony Club.

Lisa Carlsen ~ She has represented Canada at both the Pan American Games in 1987 where she won a team gold medal and placed sixth individually at the 1986 World Championships and at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 with a fourth place team finish.
