A typical year of activities in
North Hill Pony Club
January-March: 10 weeks of weekly stable management lessons. No horses involved.
The Saturday before Valentine's Day (February): North Hill Pony Club's Annual Fundraiser 'Bud, Spud and Steak' in Oakbank. Adults only! Each family prepares a gift basket for the rainbow auction.
February: Eastman Quiz.
Kids get to showcase their knowledge about horses. No horses involved. Held in the eastern region of Manitoba
March: Regional quiz, usually in Portage la Prairie.
May-June: Set of 10 riding lessons, held at the Bird's Hill Equestrian Center
May: Written tests.
May: Pony Clubs Spring Classic Show at the Bird's Hill Park. Each family is asked to volunteer 10 hours regardless if child is participating as this is NHPC's main fundraiser.
July: Manitoba Pony Club Camp in Portage
July-August: Possibly another set of 10 riding lessons. Varies from year to year
August: The Manitoba Pony Club Benefit Show with MPC Championships.
Families who have children competing are required to volunteer 6 hours.
September: Testing, the riding and stable management portion.
September-October: Set of 10 riding lessons at a local arena.
Last Saturday of October: Halloween Party on horseback.
December: Christmas Party
