Here are highlight results from the second Central Ontario Qualifier for the Regional Show Jumping Finals, held on Sunday, August 8 at Springfield Stables near Brooklin, hosted by the Brooklin Pony Club. Selection for the Regional Finals will be based on scores achieved at this meet and another qualifier in June. Complete order of finish follows the highlights.
In this show, four divisions of Pre-Entry riders competed in two classes each: a single round plus jump-off class, and a medal class judged on equitation both over fences and at various gaits on the flat. The higher divisions competed in three classes each, a single round plus jump-off class, a power and speed class and a medal class to determine a Champion and a Reserve in each division.
Pre-Entry Division A-1 - The Champion was Olivia Gionet of the Rising Star Pony Club riding Tarragon, with Vyktoria Brochu of the Maple Pony Club riding Tony the Pony and Lily Solomon of the Toronto & North York Pony Club on Tango tied for the Reserve.
Pre-Entry Division A-2 - The Champion was Nina Micanovic of the Brooklin Pony Club on Aphroditie (sic), with another Brooklin rider, Rachel Dainard the Reserve riding Daisy.
Pre-Entry Division B - Sarah Meeke of Brooklin was the Champion aboard Apollo, with Rachel Smith of the Kawartha Pony Club the Reserve riding The Backstreet Kid.
Pre-Entry Schooling Division - Champion was Alexandra Reynolds of the Kawartha Pony Club on Take a Second Glance, with Emily Lindsay of the Rising Star Pony Club the Reserve on Shatar.
Entry Division (First Qualifying Level) - Dalton Wright of the Durham Pony Club was the Champion riding Whistling Jay, and Elyse Bondy of the Maple Pony Club was the Reserve on Silkawda.
Starter Division - Rachel Scott of the Victoria Pony Club was the Champion on Peanut, with Kendra Abbey of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club the Reserve riding Willow.
Beginner Division - Rachel Scott was also the Beginner Champion, this time riding Diamonds from Sierra, with Jenna Meeser of Rising Star the Reserve on Risk it for the Biscuit.
Novice Division - Samantha Lobbezoo of the Brooklin Pony Club was the only competitor in this division, and finished first on Huki's Last Knight.
