Here are the placings at the third Central Ontario Region of Pony Club dressage qualifier for the Central Canadian Zone Dressage Championships, held on Sunday, July 13 at Killusty Farm near Fenelon Falls, hosted by the Victoria Pony Club. Selection for the Central Ontario Dressage team, which will compete against teams from the Western Ontario and St. Lawrence-Ottawa Valley Regions, will be based on scores achieved at this meet and other qualifiers hosted by the Kawartha Pony Club on April 27, and by the Toronto & North York Pony Club on June 1. This year, the Central Canadian Zone Championships are being hosted by the Central Ontario Region at the Ontario's Pony Clubs Tournament of Champions on August 16.
These results are shown from most to least difficult. In dressage, each competitor normally rides in two classes which are consecutive in difficulty, and has the option of entering a freestyle class (dressage to music). Freestyle results follow those for "regular" classes. We present highlights first, details second.
At the highest levels for this show, Third Level Test 3 and Test 2, the winner was Jenny Rae of the Victoria Pony Club riding Avalon. She was the only entry at these levels, riding "against the book."
Daina Brown of the Kawartha Pony Club won the Second Level Test 2 class, riding Moon Walker (same situation as with Ms Rae).
First Level Division B Tests 3 and 4 classes were both won by Katie Murray of the Durham Pony Club on Jamane, with Daina Brown second in Test 4 and third in Test 3, and Megan Mattos of the new Waussnodae Pony Club third aboard Mickey Talk in Test 4 and second in Test 3.
In the First Level Division A Test 2 class, Kylie Pinder of the Victoria Pony Club took the honours on Let's Rhumba. Second place went to Julie Pett of Victoria riding Living Legacy, and Kendal Lehari of the Toronto & North York Pony Club took third on She's All That. Kylie Pinder also won the First Level Division A Test 1 class, with Kendal Lehari second and Julie Pett third.
In the Training Level Test 4 class, Sarah Conboy of the Oshawa Pony Club took top honours aboard Dolshavita, with Kaley Fountain of the Victoria Pony Club second on Thunder. Third place went to Julia McGill of the Durham Pony Club riding D'Artagnan. In the Training Level Test 3 Class, Julia McGill took first, with Katie Stephenson of the Maple Pony Club second on Masquerade and a tie for third between Laura Parliament of the Uxbridge-Scugog Pony Club on Star, and Kendal Lehari, this time riding Daily Edition.
The Pre-Training Test 2 class was won by Jenny Fulton of the Baltimore Hills Pony Club riding Whirlabout, with Jessie Ball of the Victoria Pony Club second on Corona's Kiowa "Ki". There was a tie for third in this class between Lauren Pinder of the Victoria Pony Club aboard Rebecca and Monica Ruegsegger of the Durham Pony Club riding Star. Michaela Brown of the Kawartha Pony Club won the Pre-Training Test 1 class riding Stardust, with Kayla Neil of the Durham Pony Club second on Pal-of-Mine. There was a three-way tie for third place in this class among Jenny Fulton, Jessie Ball and Monica Ruegsegger.
Alex Dewdney of the Maple Pony Club won the Starter Level Test 2 riding Contessa. Second went to Courtney O'Brien of the Brooklin Pony Club aboard Mandarin, with third place tied between Benjamin Burchfiel, a guest from the Overlook Branch of the United States Pony Club, on Sudden Inspiration and Kylie Figueira of the Victoria Pony Club riding Baltimore. Andrea McGilll of the Durham Pony Club won the Starter Level Test 1 class on Phoenix Rising, with Christine Oldridge of the Victoria Pony Club second on Snow Pony Jack Pine and Benjamin Burchfiel again tied for third, this time with Gabby Wackermann of the Waussnodae Pony Club riding Wits End Panda.
In the Entry Level Test 2 class, the winner was Rebecca Simmons of the Durham Pony Club riding Shiraz, with Alex Dewdney second and Jessica Schweitzer of the Victoria Pony Club third riding Chocolate Kiss. Alex Dewdney won the Entry Level Test 1, with Emily Lindsay of the Simcoe Pony Club second on Tarragon and Shelby Smith of the Victoria Pony Club third riding Brisco.
The First Level Freestyle class was won by Kendal Lehari riding She's All That. The Durham Pony Club team of Andrea McGill on Phoenix Rising and Rebecca Simmons on Shiraz won the Pas de Deux. In the Training Level Freestyle, Julia McGill was first, Jessie Ball second and Jenny Fulton third. The Starter Drill Team was won by the Waussnodae Pony Club. Andrea McGill also won the Starter Freestyle.
