Rally
Rally is an exciting competition that combines
riding and stable management. Riding involves three phases:
1.
Dressage
2.
Cross Country (may include roads and tracks)
3.
Stadium Jumping
Stable management is an important part of good
horsemanship. To ensure a safe learning environment there are roving judges in
attendance at Rallies to answer any questions, assess your practical skills,
judge tack and turnout, and award bonus points for outstanding work! An older
Pony club rider, or another experienced horseperson captains each team to
assist the competitors and keep the competition running smoothly. Unmounted
competitions and written tests are
also included at some Rallies.
In Alberta South Region, there are usually two D
Rallies (for riders up to and including D2 level) and one ABC Rally (for riders
C level and up) per year. Awards are given to teams and individuals for Riding
and Stable Management.
