Entry fee will  not be refunded.

WRITTEN TEST
This test can include many types of questions, including multiple choice, true or false, one-word answers, and where appropriate for the age group, longer answers. The Knowledge base tested may include any information from required or resource materials indicated for that Pony Club test level e.g. Intermediate includes all C level and may be taken from any of the books indicated on page 36 of the Canadian Pony Club Testing Procedures C/D 2000 Manual. Generally wording of questions will be age and level appropriate, and may include Pony Club acronyms and abbreviations, discipline rules (PPG, tetrathlon, dressage, jumping and rally), and stable management (parts of the horse, breeds, colours, lameness and diseases, etc.).

VISUAL IDENTIFICATION
This part of the quiz can also include any information from required or resource reading indicated for that quiz level. Snurf and Junior levels will include items of tack, riding apparel, horse care and feed. Intermediate and Senior will include items of tack (including driving, western and English tack), riding apparel, farrier equipment, horse care, teeth, parasites and feed.

GAMES
Games are designed to promote team spirit and cooperation. In all games conferring and encouragement are essential. All games have equal weighting and so contribute 10% to the final team mark. As we do not anticipate large numbers of senior entries they will join in the intermediate games, competing within their own group. All Timed games take 5 minutes.

  1. PIN THE PART ON THE PONY - (Snurf & Junior)
PIN THE DISEASE & CONFORMATION ISSUE ON THE PONY - (Intermediate and Senior)
Snurf and Junior Teams will tape names of horse body parts directly on a large picture of a horse. Names correctly placed will result in points for the team.

  2. Alphabet. A set of 26 cards is produced, each one containing a clue to one letter of the alphabet. Each team receives a master sheet with the 26 letters and space for the answers.
The team attempts to match the clues to the letters of the alphabet.
    e.g. A type of girth A Atherstone
    Slow trot J jog

  3. Headbands. Similar to charades. One member wears a hat with a phrase written on it. The other team members act out the phase for that member to guess.

  4. Sock it to Me.Identify objects by touch alone.

  5. Word scramble. Rearrange the letters to get an item colour or breed from the equestrian world.
